Does this sound like the resume of an over-achiever? Well, it is. It’s YOUR pit bull! Pit bull type dogs are all of the above and more; and we are hosting an event that you and your pit can both enjoy—a safe and fun way to satisfy the competitive spirit of you and your dog. Join us in our first ever weight-pulling contest, better known to participants as the Pit Bull Pumpkin Pull!
Notice to other dog owners: Give the Pit Bulls a run for their money, and enter your dog into the Pit Bull Pumpkin Pull Contest—whatever breed it is. All breeds are welcome to compete for Pumpkin Pull Prince or Princess!
The Highest Honor of the Day: Lord and Lady Liberty Make your pet the Star of the Show! The male and female top dog fundraiser, with the highest pledge totals of the day, will be crowned Lord and Lady Liberty of LHS’s 2007 “Bark in the Park.” Lord and Lady Liberty will be honored at the fair and will walk the runway proudly wearing their sashes, pose for the “pupperazzi” cameras to be featured on the Liberty Humane Society website and in our newsletter. They will also win prizes to take home with them.

HELP US HELP THEM
Our responsibilities as staff and volunteers at the shelter are to house, love, train, care for and find loving homes for the dogs and cats brought into our custody through no fault of their own. Some are abandoned, surrendered or simply unwanted. Our goal for this event is to raise enough money to renovate and expand the current shelter in order to provide more space and better health care for all of the animals in our charge. Please help us help them!
