Tickets are $40.00 per individual and include two cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Thank you to Jaclyn Fulop and Exchange Physical Therapy Group for hosting this important fundraiser which subsidizes the Liberty Humane Society Spay/Neuter Program, and saves the lives of dogs like Karma. Pyometra must be treated aggressively, if the treatment is... Continue reading
Bark in the Park is quickly approaching and we need your help to reach our $40,000 goal to support the medical care of homeless pets. Every year LHS treats and rehabilitates hundreds of animals. Dogs like Dutchess, who came to us with a terrible skin condition. She was infected, emaciated and incredibly unhappy. With an intense care regimen, staff and volunteer dedication, and the funding from generous supporters like yourself, Dutchess is now thriving. Dutchess isn't just a great, adoptable dog, she now LOOKS the part. Dutchess has a whole new lease on life, and another chance at happiness with a new family that will show her the love and care that she deserves.... Continue reading
Bark in the Park is the largest pet-festival in Hudson County, where we come together for a day filled with fun, food, and lots of wonderful vendors. It's also how we raise funds to cover the medical and emergency costs associated with the animals that come into our care. It helps cats and dogs like Cristal and her 13 siblings: Cristal is one of 14 cats, including 1 barely alive kitten, that were evacuated from horrible living conditions after the elderly man who had been squatting in the property they were living in was hospitalized, long-term. All 14 had terrible ringworm infections, which is a costly and time consuming process to... Continue reading

Meet Dino. Yesterday Dino was found by the LHS Animal Response Team(ART), sealed inside a plastic garbage bag and left on the curb. When the ART cut Dino out of the bag he was in distress and having a seizure, but he was stabilized at the vet’s office and is now at LHS for continued care. Dino is old and blind and may suffer from other medical issues. Like many animals LHS cares for, Dino will need substantial medical treatment in order for him to have a chance at living out the rest of his life in comfort. These intensive medical cases occur year-round,... Continue reading
This Saturday, you have an incredible chance to make a lasting difference! Liberty Humane Society is participating in the national Clear The Shelters Campaign and we couldn't be more excited about it!We're waving all adoption fees on dogs over 40lbs and cats over 4 months old. For a donation of $25 or more, we will send anyone you wish a holiday card with the handwritten message of your choice. Sweet or sassy- the choice is yours (some have glitter)! Every Holiday Tribute Card you send... Continue reading

There's room for everyone to help at LHS. Right when you walk into our lobby, one of the first things you'll see is our wall of adoption posters. The stellar current batch was made by some up-and-coming young animal advocates. They attend the Kindness Club at the Denville Library, which happens to be facilitated by one of our amazing volunteers! You're never too old or too young to get involved with animal welfare. We accept volunteers ages 16 & up to work alongside us in the shelter caring for the animals. Younger folks can host a bake sale, make adoption...
