During the pandemic we’ve all been overwhelmed with trends and numbers – so. many. numbers. - but here’s a few more we thought you’d find interesting: Since 2018, the number of animals reported to be living in homes across the country has been on the rise. Data from Best Friends shows us that there are 11% more dogs owned now than in 2018 and 4% more cats. And while we are all thrilled to see more animals going into more homes, these increases come with challenges not only to shelters and animal welfare organizations, but also to our country’s overtaxed veterinary services.
