Volunteer Opportunities at LHS

Foster Care

Foster volunteers provide in-home care to cats or dogs who arrive at the shelter sick, injured, underage, or who cannot be ideally housed in a shelter environment. Foster volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and have landlord permission. While short-term fosters are appreciated, ideal caretakers would be willing to house an animal in need of behavioral or medical support, for two weeks or more. Animals in need aren't always where we need them to be - that's where volunteer transporters come in! If you have the ability to help us move animals in times of need, please fill out the form below.
